To request vacation time, please email your manager to get approval. When filling out the timesheet for this period, please add a comment to the timesheet indicating which day(s) you have taken off and the date your manager approved it. This will allow us to know why zero hours have been entered for those days on your timesheet.
To request vacation pay, please ensure you have the accrued vacation pay available (found on your pay stub). Once confirmed, please click the button below to submit a request. Once your request has been approved, we will notify you and it will appear on your pay stub under the 'Vacation' section once payment is processed.
Although vacation pay is not required to be taken when you are on vacation, it is recommended to do so because vacation pay is designed to supplement your income during your time off. The percentage of vacation pay is directly related to the duration of your vacation entitlement (for example, 4% vacation pay equals roughly two weeks of vacation time). We highly recommend that you take your vacation pay at the same time as your vacation to maintain consistent income while you're not working during your time off.
If you still have a balance of vacation pay available at the end of your contract, it will automatically be paid out during your offboarding.
Please note: Incorporated contractors and sole proprietors are not eligible for vacation pay as it is only applicable to employees.
